Azalia paced the area. She, as usual, was bored. Having just gotten to the Forbidden Forest, she knew nothing about it. Right now, she was trying to decide what to do. She could walk around and see all the sites. There were many places she could go, and looking at them would help her learn the area. She could also search around and try and find some of the creatures that lived here. She wanted to meet some of them, she wanted to know what they were like. But there was also the chance that some of them are evil or that she wouldn't be able to find anyone. Her third and final choice was to go and find the temple of Ciani. She needed to know where is was.
She continued to pace for a time, than finally came to a decision. All of the things she could do involved her leaving the area that she was in and searching around. So, she would stay right here. It was a pretty place anyway. She walked over to a rock and lay down on it. Oh, how she loved being ironic!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wolven paws creped behind the brush, unaware he was in the presence of another. He just looked around, staring blankly into space. Everything seemed peaceful and tranquil.
No worries. No thoughts.
Sighing calmly, Shadow's red markings glimmered in the spring sun's light. Black being his fur's main color, he stood out among the plants, trees, and other creatures.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Out of the blue, a large wide-eyed doe ran by, a terrified look on her terrorized face. After the prong-footed creature came the wolf sized crossbreed of both a canine and a spotted feline. His black eyes glaring in concentration as he pounced in a catty way upon the doe, who when slipped out from under him and ran off. The cattish wolf was left a little dazed and confused, he sighed and turned around and noticed... another wolf. She had dull white fur and soft brown eyes, she was sort of pretty. He wondered whether she were a shifter or not, it was hard to tell now-a-days.
".... Shifter?" he asked, sort of quick, a little untrusting as he looked over to the apathetic female.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Azalia smiled in her head, which of course, no one can see. Her plans always worked. Something always happened. Waiting was a good choice. She was proud.
She looked at those who were not here. One other wolf, redish colored. And an odd hyrid creature. She looked the two of them over, then stood up to introduce herself. When she spoke, she also answered the odd one's question.
Shifter? No. I'm just a plain old wolf. Anyway, I'm Azalia. Who're you?
She looked at the two, and waited for them to say something.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
".... Eden," he said, thinking it over. He still wondered why he called himself that. Llewellyn was probably dead or didn't care, but he still cared deeply for a other hybrid. "You're not a shifter?"
That was a change, everyone was either an anthromorph, a human, or a shifter. It was sort of odd to see just a regular creature that did nothing but stayed in it's true, furry, feathered, or scaled form.
He sniffed around, still wondering if the doe was catchable, but he doubted it. Why was getting something to eat sooooo hard in his hybrid form? It seemed to much easier to just scavenge for tasty red raspberries as a human. His stomach was also smaller then too.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She shoke her head.
Naw, I'm just me. Nothing more than what you see.
She sighed slightly, than rolled her eyes at herself. She had never really thought about being a shifter. Never really knew if she wanted to be or not. Maybe she did, it didn't matter anyway. She looked at Eden, than spoke again.
You're a shifter? What are you?
She had been wondering that the whole time. Azalia looked over at the other wolf, only to find that it wasn't there. Or was it? She didn't know.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Yeah, I'm a shifter... but not naturally, but it's sort of complicated," he said thoughtfully, still wondering a bit about Llewellyn. Then he noticed that she had been looking around. Was there another here? He lifted his head and black eyes scanned, but he couldn't see any sort of other creature. He shook the though off of his head. "Are you new here?"
He hadn't seen her before, he was sure he would have noticed the female padding around before. After all, he'd been around for a while.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Azalia nodded. She understood. There were a lot of odd things going on these days.
Yeah, I'm new. Just got here a few days ago. I haven't really been anywhere around here yet. Is it nice? Have you been here long?
She guessed that he had, but she asked anyway. She continued to look around for the other that she had seen. She had definitely seen someone... She shrugged and stopped looking.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Yeah, it's nice here, though weird at times. The inhabitants here are all pretty good too, a few... well, you can't get along with everyone I suppose," the shifter said, now sitting down. His hind leg lifted to scratch behind his ear, he thought he had fleas. Damn the wilderness. "I still miss my old place, though. I had a good friend... but he left."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Azalia followed him and sat down as well. Only out of politeness though. She listened to him, as she always listens.
Well, that's good. I plan to stay here, or at least for a good amount of time. Sorry about your friend... Maybe you'll find him someday, hmm?
She was trying to sound hopeful, but she never sounded anything other than normal. Old, boring, orginary, normal.
She looked up at the sky. It truly was a nice day. There were few clouds in the sky at all. She hoped summer was coming soon. The winter was nice, but one can only take so much of it. It gets cold and annoying after a while, or at least that what Azalia thought. She thought that warmth would be a nice change and couldn't wait for it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Yeah, well, someday I suppose," he said, stretching slightly as he got a bit more comfortable. His stomach began to hurt a bit, a tinge of hunger. "Why did you come to the Forbidden Forest? If you don't mind me asking..."
Eden was curious to find Azalia's answer, she seemed rather interesting to him. Despite that she might not find herself that at all, he often found that sometimes the things we wouldn't expect to be brilliant, would be.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Azalia shrugged.
No reason really. At 16 I left our pack to explore the world. I mean, there was nothing for me with the pack, and I hoped to find something somewhere else. So, far nothing. But that's besides the point.
She yawned a little. She was slightly bored. Eden was interesting to talk to. But she was still bored. It was just the was. Nothing was ever really happening.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Ah, I was in a pack once. There was a really pretty fae in there, but she already had a mate. He was a really low ranking, but she still loved him. Though she died in labor," he said, just randomly telling her stuff. She seemed like a good person to talk to. "did you ever have anyone you loved a lot?"
He was curious, he would feel quite embarrassed to ask someone else, or even bring the topic up, she she had a sort of comfortable peace around her.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She shook her head. It was a bad topic for her. She looked down at the ground. She wasn't exactly upset. But she didn't really feel happy so to say.
No, I didn't. I mean... well, I don't really know.
She shrugged again. Then pushed her feelings away, which was not hard for her at all. She got up and walked around the area, but not going too far. After a few minutes, she was bored again and decided to run around. She needed the exercise anyway. She ran about, than got bored and went back to Eden. She sat back down in the same place she was before.
Er... sorry.
Let it be said that Azalia gets bored very easily.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Want to go chase deer or something? My stomach sort of hurts... I think it's hungry," he said, standing up. The hunger definitely showed on his ribs and hindquarters, bones poked out of the skin and thick, soft fur. "Deer are really tricky, though. I hate them... or we could just scavenge for berries or something? Have you ever tried the red ones?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She nodded. It happened that she was getting hungry as well, but she could have gone for an hour or two before she really needed some food.
I'm kind of hungry as well. We could try to find something. And no, I've never tried them. I normally don't try eat them. But we can do whatever you want. It doesn't matter to me.
She got up and started to walk toward the forest. She walked slowly though, and looked back, waiting for Eden. Oh, it was good to have a friend again. She hadn't come across almost anyone during the time she was traveling.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eden hurriedly padded over to her side, though walking a foot or two in front, sniffing the ground occasionally. He was sooo hungry, and thirsty, but he didn't mind that need so much. Water scared the life out of him. Suddenly the small, slightly dusty and sneezy smell of a dew deer came along. He got excited and followed the smell, not looking up to notice if the fae was following him or not.
Then he looked up and saw them, standing around and munching on the soft grass that had just appeared from the ground for the upcoming spring. They seemed to be very hungry too, as they didn't notice him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Azalia fell behind Eden, not really knowing what he was looking for. He hadn't said if they were looking for deer or berrys, so she couldn't really help. She followed behind him until she saw the deer ahead. She watched the creatures, wondering how it would be possible to catch them. She herself had never tryed them. She catch rabbits and such, smaller creatures.
Looking over at Eden, she couldn't tell what he was trying to do. She had no idea how to catch the things, so she just decided to stand aside and wait for instructions. That was what she did best anyway.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eden crept in a cattish manner, crouching low to the ground with a tail up to look like fallen leaves that had been compacted from the snow, than drifted around, warmed again by the golden sun. He stayed very quite, his eyes, despite unable to see much within them, were obviously so concentrated on the deer, it would be hard to make him turn his attentions elsewhere.
The deer, oblivious to their own dooms, still stood. They grazed under the lazy afternoon sun that was shining lambently down upon the earth. Suddenly he pounced, jumping upon the largest, male deer that was busy peeking out the corner of his eye upon his doe and her small child.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Azalia watched Eden closely. He was consentrating very hard. She figured it was pretty hard to catch a deer, so that made a lot of sense. She watched him attack the deer, and debated whether or not to help him. She might get in the way, she thought. She might cause him to loose the deer. And she barely knew how to fight at all.
She sighed slightly and continued to watch. She kind of felt bad that she wasn't helping, but she knew she would only make it worse.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
His claws retracted upon the deer's thighs, and that's when the large antlered creature seemingly snarled and tried to turn around, but Eden had a grip on his backside. He climbed up further on the deer, using his teeth to grab onto the creature. Putting his weight on it, the thing just ran around faster. Damn this skinniness! Lucky to him, it tripped and cracked one of it's legs. With that small opening, he tore at it's neck ferociously.
It look five or ten minutes, but the creature soon died. Eden took it in his mouth and dragged it over to where Azalia stood. He looked sort of silly, blood at his paws and mouth.
"Hey, I caught-" he said, when suddenly a large bucket of icy water was dropped upon his head by some old woman who had appeared out of nowhere. She looked like a witch, and smelt like it too. Eden froze in fear, shaking as he looked at the wet, clear liquid that dripped down his now hands and legs. He had turned into his human form unconsciously, and was shaking so violently, it was scary. Then he threw up a couple times.
"That teaches you to mess with these poor ol' deer! Sonny, you're overreacting. All it is is a tidbit of water," she said disapprovingly, shaking a finger at him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Azalia stared as Eden, stunned by how he was acting. She didn't question his fear of water, everyone has fears, but she didn't know what to do. Now that he had shifted into his human form, she really couldn't so anything if she knew what to do. Finally figuring to do something, she growled at the old lady, in hopes of making her leave Eden alone. She bared her teeth and started to walk torward the lady. She hoped that the lady would maybe be scared of her attacking and run away. Truth was that she would never attack the lady. No, she couldn't do that.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The old woman looked down to the fae and smiled slightly, taking out a large chunk of dried jerky and offered it up to the fae with a friendly smile.
"Here, wolfy. Don't worry, I didn't hurt your friend here. I see you're not a shifter, though," she said mystically as she looked no further look to the pale Eden as he shook. "Oh, such a pretty little girl."
After offering the jerky up, she hobbled over towards the stag, leaning heavily on her gnarled walking stick that had a very faint glow of magic. It was almost like when you visited your grandmother and she had that sort of nice, old lady smell.
"Poor Avory... he was a good, good father," she said fondly, stroking the dead stag with a look of sadness in her soft, green eyes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Azalia stopped and blinked at the lady. And she thought that she had been being ironic. Sighing, she now felt bad that she had 'tried' to attack the lady. She shrugged for... lets see... the third time, and ate the jerky. It was fairly good tasting. Sort of odd though, considering it wasn't anywhere near fresh.
She looked over at Eden. He seemed okay now. Azalia didn't want to bother the old lady anymore, so she sat down and waited. Out of politeness of course (Azalia is so full of always doing the same thing, you know).
After a moment, she grew bored again, and started to fidget with a stick near her paw. There was nothing else to do, and everything was kind of confusing to her right now. In a few minutes things would make more sense, maybe.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Oh kid, you're never going to get dry with all those clothes wet," she said, tasking at the brown and red scarf, the brown autumn jacket and the rest of his... slightly weird and very out of season clothes. She pulled his scarf and jacket off, revealing a black t-shirt underneath.
"Whoa?" she said, as he got confused at the whirl of clothing. The old woman ran over to a tree and hung the clothes up. She then looked the anorexic boy up and down.
"Maybe you did have a good reason to kill Avery," she mumbled, taking out some more jerky and offering it to both Azalia and Eden now.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She continued to pace for a time, than finally came to a decision. All of the things she could do involved her leaving the area that she was in and searching around. So, she would stay right here. It was a pretty place anyway. She walked over to a rock and lay down on it. Oh, how she loved being ironic!
