Sator was annoyed. The day had been going horribly from the start. He woke up late again, only to relize that there was a meeting today. Angerly, he rushed out and ran to the meeting, a few minutes after it had started. He could see the others holding back laughter as the general scolded him for being late. Anger flared through him, but he held back not wanted to cause trouble here. The general started talking about an attack on Virtwyn. Sator was not interested, so he sat back and began thinking of other things.
Sator!
Sator woke up from the light sleep he had fallen into instantly to see the general yelling at him. He could choked laugher behind him once more.
Yeah?
He replyed lightly, hoping that he wouldn't get in too much trouble.
Pay attention!
Sator grumbled, and sat up in his chair, reluctent to listen to the plans being made.
About an hour later, the meeting was finally over. He ran out of the room as quickly as possible. He really didn't feel like fighting with the others right now, though he sure was angry at them. Quickly, he came to Thao and jumped up onto his back. He whispered some words to him, and took off. They soared through the sky, flying far from the civilization that Sator wanted to be away from. All his angry slowly left him and a feeling of peace washed over as they continued to fly.
Not too long later, they had left the lands of Chrysalis and were entering Virtwyn. This was not the first time he had come here. He came there very often actually. They flew into the Canyons, not really worrying if anyone could see them. It didn't seem to matter at the moment. All that mattered was the beautiful area around them. That was all that mattered.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flying through the clouds, Cari didn't care that she was soaked. Her clothing wasn't that of a warrior anyway, so why cry over spilled milk? She was actually wearing her training armor (which wasn't very thick and worked horribly if one got caught in battle with it) under her white-gold cloak, which had flown open in the wind, showing her polished armor, though it was practically useless. Her cloak hugged tight to her figure as she said something to Pegasus and they began their descent and broke through the clouds with a flash of light on silver and gold. Finally opening her emerald eyes, she noticed a Chrysalis mount and it's rider. She didn't care who it was, they were in her homeland and they didn't seem to mind... Rolling her eyes, she murmured to Pegasus to move toward them and landed far enough away that they could take cover among the many rocks around the valley. Then she asked Pegasus to stay as she approached.
Who are you?
She demanded, her voice beautiful, though hardened by her many years as a fighter. A shy half-smile appeared on her lips as she regarded him almost hesitantly, as if looking might keep her from killing him if need-be.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sator was taken by supprise when the female spoke to him. He hadn't seen her, nor was he looking anyway. Her voice was quite beautiful, and he could easily hear it from the distance he was at. He called Thao to a stop and turned to face her. She stood bellow him on the rocks, with a slight smile on her face. It confused him, she was obviously from Virtwyn, and he was obviously from Chrysalis. Why was she smiling? He shock his head, then decided to answer.
My name is Sator, but what would that mean to you? It is obvious that I am from Chrysalis, yet you do not attack me.
He spoke in a loud, clear voice to make sure she heard him. He hated to repeat himself, it was irritating and a waste of time. Then he became silent while waited to see what she would do.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nodding to him, her half-smile stayed on her mouth, disappearing just long enough for her to answer.
If I were a guard, I'd have raised the alarm and attacked, but I was merely enjoying some fresh air... As for any kind of clear answer, I have none for why I did not attack you, just be thankful, Sator. I am Cari.
A quick nod of her head sent her ponytail swaying slightly as Pegasus came up to her and she mounted and joined him in the sky, keeping far enough away from him that she could retreat if necessary. Extending her hand, her smile broadened as she stretched her body across the air that separated them.
It's nice to meet you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sator listened to her words, and noded after she was done. He wasn't exactly thankful that she didn't attack him. It just wasn't the way he was. He was just meerly pleased.
Cari.
He spoke her name as he reached his hand out to touch hers. She must be very trusting, he thought as he shoke her hand. For why would one shake hands with another if they did not trust them? It is a weak point, it is. After he took him hand back, he looked up to her.
It's nice to meet you too.
He looked at her mount. The horse seemed to suit her. He noded again and waited to see what she's do next.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Withdrawing her hand, she glanced at Sator with her mysterious green eyes. Nodding to him, her hair swayed slightly and then caught in a gentle breeze. Her face clouded with thought for a moment before she smiled and looked back at him.
Would you like to fight me? I'm supposed to be training and, as you might have guessed, I haven't been...
Eyes glimmered with exitement, she didn't like fighting, but it always pleased her if she felt that she had improved at all... Grinning, she waited for his answer, anxiety causing her to tremble slightly, then it was gone and her usual calm covered her like a blanket as she watched him with her steady gaze. After a moment of thought, she decided to add something which would probably seem a bit strange to anyone other than her.
Don't worry, I'll be careful and nobody should get hurt...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sator stared at her. Was she insane? He thought to himself. Then after a moment of silence, he burst out laughing.
I'm not going to fight a girl!
He replyed to her, then calmed down. He stared at her again with a smile on his face from laughing. He seemed it find it extreamly funny that she would ask that. Not even the other riders back in Chrysalis would pick a fight with him anymore. Atleast not without a sword. Then Sator noticed that he was being rude. He smiled at her in a nice way, and added.
Hey, not even the guys at home would want to fight me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sighing sadly, Cari nodded, tears shining in her eyes.
You don't think that I'm any good?
Eyes narrowing at him, she leapt off of Pegasus and crashed into him, pushing him off of his mount, she angled it so that he would land on her as they fell. She didn't want to lose any friends, especially those that she'd just made. Temporarilly stunned she took a moment to gather herself together and then pounced on him, trying to pin his arms and legs down.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sator had no idea what was going on as she jumped at him. As they were falling, Thao moved through the air to a position so that he could see what was going on. Normally, he would have attacked her right then and there for attacking him, but for some reason, he didn't think that she would hurt Sator. So quietly, he moved to a nearby rock and landed down to watch.
When Sator finially relized what had just happened, Cari was trying to hold him against the ground. He laughed, in a nice way this time, and tryed to push her off. She was deffinatly stronger than he thought she was, but after a few minutes he got her off.
He looked around quickly, only to catch a glimpse of Thao sitting on a rock nearby watching with an entertained look on his face. Sator turned his back on Cari so that he could face Thao. Then he threw his hands in the air and yelled out to him in a joking voice, a small smile on his face.
Thanks a whole lot, Thao! You sure saved me there!
Thao grinned, but said nothing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Giggling, she sprang right back up and tackled him, forcing his arms behind his back, though being careful not to hurt him permanently.
Not so weak as you thought I was, eh?
She asked, pushing him onto his knees. Smiling, she looked at Thao and nodded to him, trying to show that she meant no harm. Letting him go, she absently ruffled his hair as she moved around him to speak once again.
Don't think so lightly about fighting girls, we can be just as good as you guys! Besides, you never know when you'll make a new friend that way...
Pegasus snorted and glanced nervously at the sky, wondering why the guard hadn't shown up yet.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sator wasn't really suprised when Cari attacked him from behind. He kinds knew she would. He didn't fight back, nor make a move to protect himself as she pushed him around. He listened to her, then spoke himself.
Maybe not, but I'm still not going to fight a girl. It's bad manners, hasn't anyone taught you that?
He smiled again as he moved to get off of the ground. He was slightly enjoying himself for being rude a polite at the same time. It made things interesting.
Sator definatly did not think himself in any danger, and he didn't really care if there was. It beat being back home.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looking puzzled, Cari slowly shook her head.
I've fought girls lots of times!
Giggling, she shrugged and looked at Pegasus, wondering why he was watching the sky. Then she realized that the guards would be around soon. Glancing from the sky to Sator, she tried to figure out how long they'd been there and came to the conclusion that the guards would be around at any time. Face clouding with anxiety, she looked to Sator and spoke again, this time much more seriously.
You must go now, the guards will be here any minute. Please come back, though... I've never met anyone so nice, especially from another Fraction!
Giggling once again, she playfully punched him in the arm (not hard, mind you) and smiled, then began shooing him to Thao, hoping that the guards wouldn't notive that she was out pretty much alone...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sator blinked at her. Then he relized that she was probably right. But he wouldn't just leave like that, he had to say something else.
I will then, but if you want to meet again... Maybe not in such an open place. If you'd like, come to the Chrysalis's main forest. If we meet there, no one will find us, but don't go too close. That could be dangerous, for you or I.
He started to walk torward Thao, but then turned to add another thing.
Oh, and I ment it was bad manners for guys.
He smiled at her once more, then turned to mount Thao.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nodding, Cari smiled at him and mounted Pegasus, Hair blowing behind her as they became airborne, she glanced back before moving towards the guards, shouting and waving hello.
Sator!
Sator woke up from the light sleep he had fallen into instantly to see the general yelling at him. He could choked laugher behind him once more.

He replyed lightly, hoping that he wouldn't get in too much trouble.
