Kitrin walked about the clearing in the center of the forest. This was the first time she had been here, traveling from far, far away to find some new place to be. She was a wanderer most of the time, but thought that this new place she would stay in for some time. She looked about her, and folded her wings silently beside her.
She did not see anyone around, but the forest was full of life, and she would not be surprised if many others were watching her. And if they were, she could careless.
Kitrin walked bare footed toward the large ancient tree that was in the clearing. With a slightly bored face she reached her hand out and touched the tree gently. Slowly she brought it down, feeling the twists and cuts in the tree. She had traveled far to see it. She was not sure why, but she had always wanted to. After hearing about it so much in childhood stories, she was just awed by it.
After a few moments, she walked back away from it again, and sat herself down on a small rock nearby. She continued to look at the tree as she let her thoughts run through her mind again. And in no time, she was completely unaware of anything that was happening around her.

Hiland walked along, deep into the forest, tumbling around with a flower as she carried her belt and staff, looking over her shoulder she smiled, there was little prints, human foot prints, company would be good for Hiland as she had not seen many people in this time, walking and sniffing she caught the scent of the human, it was female and smelled sad, walking on she started to see a human, with wings like her only the human had white wings with red, she had brown wings with a few black and dark tan patched.
Hello.
she spoke in a soft voice, nothing but friendly-ness, she had been out hunting and had caught a few things, taking them out she laid them down, three rabbits two pheasants and a black bird, resting them down and putting them close to each other.
Would you like some?
she asked, waving her staff on top of it there was a fire ball, floating in mid air, she lay down a large bowl and pushed her staff in it, the ball of fire jumped into it and grew, Hiland smiled as she had control and it was safe.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kitrin's thoughts were suddenly distracted as a large winged wolf sort of creature walked to the clearing. She looked up at it, her face the same as always, a bored type look. She looked the creature over, and decided that it would most likely not harm her.
When the creature addressed her, she just simply nodded. She watched as she took out the food, and lit it. She shook her head when asked if she would like any, and just went on being silent. She kept her eyes on the creature, not rudely, just watching.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hiland watched as the human was silent, raising an eye brow she took a rabbit, ripping off the pieces she did not wait she opened a Little pocket, a little mouse type creature with big ears popped out, putting out her finger she looked at it, smiling she looked at the human.
My name is Hiland, this is my friend, honey nut, i call her that because she likes my honey covered nut seeds, what is your name?
Opening another pocket by the pocket she got the mouse out of she had a honey covered seed, giving it to the mouse thing she resumed eating.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kitrin watched the creature eat, and take out the little mouse. She found it very interesting, the little mouse that is. She wondered why Hiland would have a mouse, but she didn't care enough to ask the question. She nodded again, then replied.
Kitrin.
She hated when people asked for her name. It was such a stupid question to her, but Hiland seemed so nice, that she could not be rude to her. She sighed, and continued to stare at her.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hiland tried not to look at Kitrin as she knew she would ask more questions and it seem that Kitrin was not in the mood for answering questions, she could help wondering what was wrong with her
Are you ok? Your wing looks sore.
she couldn't help but asking it, putting honey nut down on the floor and walked over to her, a smile full off concern for her, tilting her head she looked at it, not daring to touch it as it may hurt, kneeling don she watched it, it looked pain full, maybe she could help some who as she did not have the power to heal.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kitrin looked at Hiland. It was most definitely not the first time that someone had tried to help with her wing. It was blood stained, and looked painful, when really, it had been there for ages, and was long healed. She sighed, and knew she had to explain it.
I am okay. That has been there for ages. It's healed, just not cleaned. And to tell you the truth, I don't want to clean it.
She looked away from Hiland and down at her fingernails. She picked at them for a few moments, then looked back up at Hiland to see what her reaction was.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hiland nodded and smiled, not going to go on about it any more, Honey nut scurried over so Hiland picked her up.
Ahh I see, I will not ask why as we all have our reasons, as I bet you want to ask why keep a mouse.
She tilted her head around with her hand and fingers as she talked, not looking at Kitrin as she may ask more, smiling at Honey nut she took another seed out and smiled looking at Kitrin.
Would you like to hold her?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kitrin had actually been wondering why Hiland kept a mouse, but she did not ever feel the need to ask. It was not of her concern. She sighed slightly and unfolded her wings, stretching them out as far as she could. She yawned silently, being a bit tired from her trip, but not enough to sleep.
She looked back at Hiland and shook her head. Then, feeling as if she was being rude, she smiled. It was a rare thing to see Kitrin smile. She almost never did. And during the few times that she did, it was only fake. This one was not fake, but not really a smile either. She was just trying to be nice.
Her face remained in a bored sort of stare as she looked around once again.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hiland nodded and gently pulled out Kitrin hand, making sure she was comfortable she put her hand next to Kitrin's, letting the little mouse scurry on to her hand, taking her hand away she looked up and smiled.
The reason why i keep my little friend here is well, i get lonely when I'm on my own and Honey Nut is great company, and i don't really care if people think I'm strange, i have my reasons, like you have yours.
